Cahal Mowery is the Vice President of Sales at Choose Chicago, where he helps lead the team responsible for securing conventions and meetings at Chicago’s McCormick Place and over 150 hotel partners.
Cahal began his career at Visit Houston on the Convention Sales team after graduating from the Conrad N. Hilton College of Global Hospitality Leadership at the University of Houston. After fulfilling multiple sales markets over the course of six years with Visit Houston, Cahal joined the JW Marriott Houston Downtown as the Director of Sales & Catering. Cahal rejoined the Destination Marketing Organization (DMO) world with Visit Denver as their Director of Convention Sales, where he served for five years. Cahal joined the Choose Chicago team in January 2023, bringing his enthusiasm for hospitality, destination marketing and hotel sales leadership experience to his role promoting Chicago as a world-class destination for meetings and conventions.
Through his experience, Cahal has earned his Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) designation, is a MPI Past-President and is a MPI Verified Facilitator, has been named a recipient of Connect’s 40 Under 40 2014 class as well as PCMA’s 20 in their Twenties 2018 class, and earned his MBA from the C.T. Bauer College of Business at the University of Houston. When he’s not enjoying his work in the hospitality and meetings industry, Cahal enjoys exploring Chicago with his wife and 2-year-old daughter Lucy, cooking, wine (he is a Certified Sommelier), staying active in the outdoors, and traveling.
